The Documentary Approach:
When I arrive, I'll chat with everyone until I feel we're all relaxed, warmed up, and ready. I might play with the kids for a few minutes before shooting any photos. I'll remind you that all you have to do is be yourselves. Just do whatever you'd normally be doing on any other day. Pretty soon you'll forget about the camera and allows those special moments to shine naturally. Some of the time I may be more of a fly-on-the-wall, and some of the time I may put the camera down and just chat. It's my job to work with the available light and the environment, and it's your job to enjoy spending this time with your family. There’s no stress - no outfits to pick out, no locations to choose, and we don’t have to worry about the weather cooperating. All you have to do is be yourselves. This is my favorite session because a full day gives us the ultimate opportunity to make memories, preserve a slice of your family history, and record the story of who YOU authentically are.
Day In The Life Sessions
Day In The Life sessions are 8-10 hours long. Yes, I'll be there with you the whole entire day. In my experience, full day documentary sessions result in the best photos. In the time we spend together I become like a member of the family, one you'll trust to represent your real life in the most interesting, funny, and beautiful way. Day In the Life sessions start at $1200 and include a hardcover book and a slideshow video.
I believe every family should walk away from their session with a beautiful, finished, printed product. To me, digital image files are a raw material, not finished. That's why I design and deliver a custom hardcover photo book with each session, included in the session fee.
